Description
Discover three of Edinburgh’s royal attractions, as well as exploring the city at your own pace on a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour, with the Edinburgh Royal Ticket. Guaranteed entrance to Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia and the Palace of Holyroodhouse means you’ll be able to discover Scotland’s historic and beautiful capital.
Edinburgh Castle is perched on the top of an extinct volcano and offers spectacular views of the city. Highlights of the castle include the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh, St. Margaret’s Chapel, the Scottish Crown Jewels and the One o’Clock Gun which has been firing since 1861.
Step aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia, used by the Queen as her floating palace for over 40 years. Travelling more than 1 million nautical miles during her years of service and hosting guests such as Frank Sinatra, Nelson Mandela and Sir Winston Churchill, The Royal Yacht Britannia has a fascinating history. Be sure to visit the Sun Lounge, the Queen’s favourite room on board.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh. Visit the regal State Apartments, used by the Royal Family and be sure to see the chambers of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Also included in the Edinburgh Royal Ticket is access to three Hop-On Hop-Off City Bus Tours. The City Sightseeing Edinburgh route passes through Edinburgh’s historic centre and includes a special Horrible Histories audio commentary for children. The Majestic Tour heads north towards the port of Leith, where the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed. The Edinburgh Tour route has a live English-speaking guide and takes in the city centre, including Edinburgh’s famous New Town. Valid for 48 hours and with the freedom to hop off and on at any of the stops and switch between the various bus routes, it makes it easy for you to travel between the three royal attractions included in this ticket, as well as discover the other famous landmarks in the city of Edinburgh.
