Description
This is no ordinary museum. The Panorama Exhibition at the Pergamon Museum is an immersive experience that takes you back in time to the vibrant civilization of ancient Pergamon. No time machine needed!
This highly original exhibition is unlike anything you've ever seen before. The exhibition can be divided into two sections. There is a stunning collection of artifacts and sculptures from the Pergamon Altar. And, of course, the enormous Panorama itself, a 360° representation of the 2nd-century AD city and its altar.
As you explore the enormous space, you'll come across around 80 magnificent pieces from the museum's extensive collection. Don’t miss this opportunity to marvel at the remarkable Telephos frieze. It depicts the life of Telephus, one of the heroes of Greek mythology, and is a piece of history that few get to see.
The Panorama, a digital reconstruction of the ancient city of Pergamon, was created by Turkish artist Yadegar Asisi. Imagine yourself walking in the shoes of the inhabitants of this city as you walk through the space, surrounded by a full-circle view of 129 AD and the festival of the god Dionysos. It really is a unique and immersive experience.
