The Blue Route heads in the other direction towards the delights of the Palm Jumeirah and the Mall of the Emirates, both examples of Dubai’s incredible modernity at its finest. The Mall of the Emirates is home to over six hundred shops, a fantastic family entertainment centre called Magic Planet and, amazingly, an indoor ski slope! The Palm Jumeirah is one of the most famous and emblematic parts of Dubai. This archipelago of manmade islands takes its name from the fact that its laid out in the shape of a date palm, though you need to be high above it to appreciate how amazing it looks!


One of the Palm’s attractions is the Lost Chambers Aquarium, which is an imagined version of the lost kingdom of Atlantis and home to some of the world’s most interesting, beautiful and dangerous marine animals, from sharks to tiny miniature seahorses.
