It is an authentic 2nd-century BC Egyptian temple that has been standing in Madrid since 1968, an unexpected sight in the heart of Spain. It was given as a gift by Egypt to Spain for their help in preserving historical monuments. Another surprising sight in the city is a statue of the devil! It’s one of the few that exist in the world. Made by the sculptor Ricardo Bellver in the 19th century, it represents Lucifer at the moment of his fall. Local legend has it that the statue stands at exactly 666 meters above sea level. Spooky!
