Additional Information

The beautifully restored Georgian townhouse at 25 Brook Street was home to the great Baroque composer George Frideric Handel from 1723 until his death in 1759. He composed some of the greatest music in English history there, including Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Music for the Royal Fireworks.
As it has been restored as faithfully as possible to its original 18th century interiors, you can step back in time into the music rooms where Handel composed, rehearsed and performed along with fellow musical luminaries of the Baroque age. With musicians often rehearsing throughout the day, you may even get a beautiful atmospheric accompaniment as you explore the life and times of this German maestro.
Keep ascending to the third floor to find where legendary American guitarist, singer and songwriter Jimi Hendrix lived at neighbouring 23 Brook Street in 1968–9. Hendrix is said to have described it as "my first real home of my own" and it has been painstakingly recreated to look just as it did when he lived there.
