    Description

Explore nearly 2,000 years of Barcelona’s history as your expert local guide explains how Barcelona transformed from a small Roman outpost into the thriving city it is today. Start the tour near La Rambla and the famous Boqueria Market. From here your English-speaking guide will take you into the maze of alleyways that make up Barcelona’s Old Town.

Along the way you’ll see 2,000-year-old Roman walls, a mural by Picasso and Barcelona Cathedral, which you’ll get to explore with your guide, as well as climbing to the roof and enjoying spectacular views over the sprawling city below.

The route has been carefully planned to show you all of the most important landmarks, as well as some hidden secrets. Listen to stories of persecution, visit Antoni Gaudí’s favourite square, get lost in the old Jewish Ghetto, hear how the 1992 Olympics transformed the city, and even learn about Catalonia’s push for independence.

After your guide has explained all there is to know about this fascinating area of Barcelona, you’ll head to the old port, Port Vell, which you’ll have the opportunity to explore while learning about the city’s fascinating long seafaring history.

There is no better introduction to the city than this tour and it’s an excellent way to start (or end) your stay in the city.
