Steeped in history, the Borders were home to one of the most famous Scottish writers, Sir Walter Scott. Born in Edinburgh, he spent much of his time in Kelso before taking up residency at Abbotsford House. Stunningly located on the banks of the River Tweed, Abbotsford House sits in the heart of the landscape that inspired his poetry and novels. One of Scotland’s largest and richest abbeys, Melrose Abbey, will transport you into the time of the medieval monks with remarkable sculptures and picturesque architecture. Take in the impressive scenery across the River Tweed towards the Eildon Hills from Scott's View, a favourite view point of Sir Walter Scott. Make the most of your visit to the Scottish Borders from our open-top bus!
