Description

Shakespeare's Birthplace: fully immerse yourself in the life of Shakespeare and visit the home where he was born and grew up in a loving family. You'll learn all about the history of his parents, who they were, what they did for a living and what it was like to grow up in this village for Shakespeare and his siblings.

Anne Hathaway's Cottage: discover Shakespeare's romantic history and visit the childhood home of his lovely wife, Anne Hathaway. Shakespeare spent many occasions in this cottage home, whilst courting his future bride and it's now said to be over 500 years old!

Shakespeare's New Place: discover Shakespeare's family home from 1597. This house is a very important part of Shakespeare's life because he wrote many of his world famous plays here. Although he died in this house on his birthday in 1616, his legacy still lives on. Unfortunately, this house was demolished in the 18th century but you can still appreciate his wonderful life in the beautiful gardens with specially commissioned sculptures and a fascinating exhibition about Shakespeare as the playwright, the family man and the businessman of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Hall's Croft: this magnificent 17th century, Jacobean style home belonged to Shakespeare's beloved daughter Susanna and her husband, Dr. John Hall. Here you can explore the beautiful walled gardens, which were home to many medicinal herbs, all of which Dr Hall used in his remedies to cure his patients.

Mary Arden's Farm: this fantastic destination was home to Shakespeare's mother, Mary Arden, when she was a young child. This home was built all the way back in the early 16th century by Mary's father, Robert, and it still remains very much intact. Get a feel for what it was like to live on a family farm with seven sisters and explore this amazing Tudor farmyard!
