Description
When Athens was the centre of the world, Piraeus was its harbour. It was here that ships set off and arrived from around the ancient world. With our Athens and Piraeus Lines ticket, you’ll be able to explore both.
Hop on the bus in Athens and explore the city’s many delights. From the Acropolis, the Parthenon and the Olympic Stadium to some of the world’s finest museums. And Athens isn’t all history, it’s a modern global city, with much to see, so make sure you explore its different neighbourhoods and try some delicious Greek food and do a spot of shopping.
Piraeus has its own ancient treasures, so make sure you don’t miss the Archaeological Museum. It’s full of fascinating antiquities. If you’re feeling like taking a load off, why not head for Votsalakia beach. Or have a drink in a waterfront bar and imagine what this lovely little town would’ve been like two thousand and something years ago. Back then there were 372 trireme shipsheds here for the Athenian fleet, so maybe it wasn’t so different from today when Piraeus is the second biggest passenger port in the world.
