Garden District Guided Walking tour
Description
Two of our favourite things to do in New Orleans are visit the Garden District and take a ride on our hop-on hop-off bus. That’s why we love this ticket!
Garden District Walking Tour
The Garden District stands as glorious testament to the New Orleans of old. Much has changed since the Garden District’s fantastic houses were built – and definitely, for the better, but these houses are a spectacular reminder of times gone by.
Your experienced local tour guide will show you the district’s most noteworthy houses and tell you about the people who built them and lived in them. You’ll also learn about the different architectural styles. These houses are as impressive today as when they were first built. Maybe, that’s why some of the local residents are famous celebrities.
Hop-On Hop-Off New Orleans
New Orleans really is a city like no other. Did you know it’s closer to Cuba and Jamaica than it is to New York? The mix of North American, European, Caribbean, African and Latin cultures make it somewhere very special. It’s a cultural gumbo!
Our hop-on hop-off bus is the best way to get around the city and discover all of its magic. There are so many amazing and historic places to hop off and explore.
Jackson Square: One of the most famous places in the city, Jackson Square is a brilliant place to hop off and start exploring. It’s situated in the heart of the French District, the city’s most famous and oldest neighbourhoods. While there make sure to grab a beignet and coffee at the world-famous Café du Monde!
Canal Street: Canal Street is one of the widest streets in the entire USA! It’s also more than 3.5 miles long. Our Canal Street stop is at the Mississippi end of the street and close to all the areas attractions like Bourbon Street and the French Quarter.
Magazine Street: More than 5 miles long, Magazine Street stretches all the way from Canal Street to the beautiful Audubon Park. Our Magazine Street stop is close to numerous boutique stores and great places to eat. It’s also right on the edge of the Garden District, so a great place to get off for the walking tour.
St Charles Avenue: We’ve got 2 stops in the glorious St Charles Avenue. Located the other side of the Garden District from Magazine Street, this spectacular broad avenue is home to many famous buildings, including the famous Wedding Cake House and Loyola and Tulane Unviersities.
Bourbon Street: You can’t come to New Orleans and not visit Bourbon Street! As New Orleans party street, it’s a love-it-or-hate-it type place, but whichever side of the fence you land on, you have to visit it at least once. Even if it’s just to know that you never want to go back!
That’s only the beginning of all there is to see in New Orleans, so hop on with us and discover the Crescent City for yourself!
