Hop on and head to the golden sand and crystal-clear waters of the Playa del Sardinero. Despite the name, there’s nothing fishy about this surfer’s paradise! Amble along the promenade, stop off to sample some fresh, local seafood and treat yourself to a local cerveza as you watch the sun go down over the crashing waves.

Santander Magdalena Train Experience
Also included in your ticket is our little red train, which will take you on a guided tour of the majestic Magdalena Peninsula. Go for a wander along the rugged coastline and visit the emblematic Palacio de la Magdalena, the former summer house of the Spanish monarchy.
The train saves you a walk up the hill, and you’ll have time to hop off and explore. All in all, this is the perfect package if you really want to get to know Santander.
Centro Botín
To complete your Santander experience, we’ve also included entrance to the Centro Botín, Santander’s fantastic modern art museum. The cutting-edge waterfront building is a work of art itself! It is covered in 280,000 ceramic discs, giving it a fabulously futuristic feel.
Once inside, you’ll be as dazzled by the sweeping views of the bay as you are by its impressive collection of international contemporary art. With its rotating offering of art exhibitions and cultural activities, you might find that one visit is not enough!

Santander Magdalena Train Experience:
- Runs daily, all year round.
- Summer: 10:00 to 19:00 (uninterrumpted service)
- Winter: 10.00 to 14:00 and from 15:30 to 18:00
- Frequency: every 15-20 minutes
- In the summer months, the ticket includes a guided tour around the outside of the Magdalena Palace
