\
- Old Town: hop on our bus to begin your journey in the heart of Riga’s charming old town, where you’ll see some of the most exceptional architecture in Europe, including Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles.
- Freedom Monument: built in 1935 to honour the soldiers killed during the Latvian War of Independence, this monument stands 42 metres tall and is a popular public gathering place.
- Latvian National Opera: be sure to hop off at this handsome neoclassical opera house, yet another of Riga’s stunning buildings. If you’re a fan of opera or ballet, you could even try to catch a performance!
- Vermanes Garden: this park was donated to the city by a Prussian widow in the 1810s and boasts formal gardens and exotic trees and is a great place to have a coffee at one of the seasonal cafes.
- Powder Tower: built in 1650 as part of Riga’s defence system, this tower is so named because it was where the city’s stash of gunpowder was stored. As well as being for weapons storage, the hideously historic tower was also used as a prison and torture chamber.
