One of the most famous landmarks in Midtown, Grand Central Terminal (Stop#17), is not only a transportation hub but also a shopping, dining, and cultural destination. It is quite impressive to walk between skyscrapers and come across a tiny old building that seems to be insignificant but at the same time hides many secrets.
Among some of the hidden gems of the train station is the whispering gallery, which will blow your mind. Located in front of the Oyster Bar & Restaurant, it is an unobtrusive space where two people stand facing diagonal arches. When you whisper to a person standing at the other arch, you will think the person is standing next to you.
Thanks to its prime location, there are numerous famous attractions nearby, such as The Chrysler Building, New York Public Library in Brian’s Park, or Times Square where you’ll be able to shop, go to a Broadway show, or head to Ripley’s Believe It or Not or Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
Walking towards the Central Park you will come across The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and The Rockefeller Center. Make sure to make your way to the Top of the Rock to enjoy the best view of The Empire State Building with the World Trade Center in the background.
Can’t decide when to go? Well, for us, the best time to go up there is before the sun goes down in order to watch the sunset from beginning to end.
