The City Sightseeing family is growing! In 2019, City Sightseeing will expand its international network and will be present in more than 120 cities. Four new exciting destinations have been confirmed to join the global brand, including Beirut in Lebanon; Seoul in South Korea; and Larnaca and Ayia Napa in Cyprus. Additionally, City Sightseeing is working to launch other new operations in South East Asia, South America, and North America in the months to come.
Let’s take a look at the latest cities who will start serving up hop-on hop-off tours.
Beirut, one of the oldest cities in the world, is the capital and largest city of Lebanon. Called “the Paris of the Middle East”, it is an emerging destination full of history and attractions to entice visitors. City Sightseeing Beirut will bring the first hop-on-hop-off service to Lebanon, making this opening extra special. Once City Sightseeing Beirut is up and running, the idea is to continue developing and open more operations in Lebanon. The goal is to introduce other products in a handful of cities throughout the country, including Jeita, Byblos and the Teleferique.
Seoul, the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea, is a business centre and one of the most visited cities in the World. A modern, yet traditional city, Seoul welcomes over 10 million travellers each year. From gorgeous palaces to age-old temples to serene mountain trails to stylish boutiques, there is a wide range of things to see and do in the city, making it ideal for any traveller.
After the launch of Limassol in 2018, Larnaca and Ayia Napa will strengthen City Sightseeing’s presence not only in Cyprus, but in the Mediterranean. Cyprus is a beautiful island with an interesting cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes, making it the perfect destination for those who want a getaway filled with sightseeing and time for relaxation.
Located on the south coast of the island, Larnaca is known for Finikoudes Beach, its fantastic waterfront bars, and monuments, such as Church of Saint Lazarus and Hala Sultan Tekke, otherwise known as the Mosque of Umm Haram. Ayia Napa is another enchanting town situated on the southern part of the island. It is popular for its fabulous beaches where people can spend their time soaking up the warm sun before diving into the crystalline waters and observing the world under the sea. The town’s main monument, Venetian-era Ayia Napa Monastery, is located in the central square of Plateia Seferi and is definitely worth a visit.
